  Our Family Traditions – Наши семейные традиции A happy and harmonious family is based on strong family traditions. There are a few traditions in my family which I would like to tell about. Summer holidays Every summer we all go on a camping trip. For a few days we stay in a cottage on a lakeside. We swim in the lake and lie in the sun, sometimes we go to the nearest village for a day out. Every day we build a fire and cook food on it. This is the process that unites the whole family. Somemake a fire, others cut vegetables and cook. This is the moment when we don’t stop talking to each other and laughing at jokes. Grandmother’s birthday Fortunately, my grandmother lives not too far from us so we often go to visit her. But her birthday is a special day which everyone looks forward to. This is the day when all the relatives come to her place to celebrate. My family is very big. I have uncles, aunts and cousins. My grandmother’s birthday is the day when we all sit around one big table. P

  I am very busy on my weekdays. My working day begins early in the morning. My studies starts at 8 о’clock, so I have to get up at 7 to be ready for it. I never wake up myself, my mother always wakes me up. Sometimes I do my morning exercises, then I rush to the bathroom. I clean my teeth, wash my face. The cold water makes me feel not so sleepy. Then I go back to my room, make the bed. I switch on my radio, put on my clothes, comb my hair, put a little makeup. By that time my breakfast is ready (my mother cooks it for me). At a quarter to eight I grab my bag and rush to my school/University. Usually I have six or seven lessons a day, it lasts till 3 o’clock. After each lesson there is a break, so I can talk to my friends or eat my sandwich. After classes I go home. First of all, I need to walk my dog. Then I have my dinner and a little rest. The teachers give us a lot of homework, so I start doing it about 16.30 or 17.00. As a rule, it takes me two or three hours to do my home assign

  Формы и времена оборота THERE IS/THERE ARE В английском языке оборот  there is/there are  может быть в 3-х формах ( утвердительная, отрицательная, вопросительная ), в 2-х числах ( единственное и множественное ) и во всех временах глагола «to be» ( Present, Past, Future; Simple, Perfect, Continious ), включая модальные. Рассмотрим сначала образование и употребление единственного и множественного числа. Единственное и множественное число оборота THERE IS/THERE ARE Если мы хотим сказать, что в определенном месте находится какой-то  один предмет,  то употребляем  there is (единственное число) , если хотим сказать что в определенном месте находится  несколько предметов,  то используем  there are (множественное число). Для того чтобы обрести этот навык, необходимо раз и навсегда разобраться в тонкостях классификации предложений, понять ее главные принципы.  Типы предложений в английском языке имеют практически такую же систематизацию, как и в русском: их можно группировать по структурным признакам, по характеру или цели высказываемого и т.п. Но одно существенное отличие между русским и английским языками, все же есть: английский язык относится к аналитическому типу, а это значит, что смысл высказывания определяется порядком слов в предложении; в русском же языке члены предложения не имеют строго фиксированного порядка, их место в изречении может меняться.  Сравните:  1.
